Fair Trade Store For Milwaukee

     TEDI recognizes that Tanzanian enterprises can benefit greatly if their goods can be sold at fair trade prices in the US. TEDI is along with other Milwaukee organizations is playing a lead roll in establishing the Southeastern Wisconsin Initiative for Fair Trade, SWIFT—The fair Trade Store.

     TEDI is contributing to the development of a sound business plan for this not for profit store. Once established it will be a premier Milwaukee source for fair trade and clean clothes items of artisans, craftspeople and producers from Tanzania and around the world, providing a consumer fair trade alternative to exploitive global trade.

     Recognizing that a viable and sustainable fair trade store will need the cooperation and support of a growing number of diverse groups and individuals working to encourage fair trade with the world’s less developed nations TEDI is urging you support this effort with your time, talents, and consumer actions.
